Kerr Construction & Absolute Roof Solutions are looking for an Office Coordinator/Customer Service Manager to join our team.

We have been around delivering award-winning projects and top client experience in the Lower Mainland for the last 28 years.

We are looking for someone who loves customer service, have a strong background handling complex scheduling, and strong administrative skills.

The candidate will be responsible for making sure our internal and external clients have the best customer experience possible.

Description of Duties:

• Deliver superior customer service to clients and manage their expectations regarding our services;
• Schedule roofing inspections, repairs and communicate with clients;
• Manage and support the Repair Technicians;
• Direct construction leads to Project Consultants;
• Review documents for grammar, formatting, typos, etc;
• Manage and maintain the boardroom calendar;
• Ensure key activities are not missed, decisions are followed through and service has been delivered;
• Manage mail, email, and phone calls;
• Schedule meetings;
• Draft and format professional correspondence;
• Respond to and follow-up with clients, vendors, and business partners;
• Attend weekly team meetings;
• Approve timesheets;
• Manage office supplies inventory (e.g. stationery, snacks);
• Manage security access;
• Deliver weekly stats to the CEO;
• General office maintenance duties;
• Greet visitors at the reception;
• Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.

Skills and Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in scheduling (experience in construction or roofing would be an asset);
• 2+ years of experience in office coordination;
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience;
• Superior organizational skills and exceptional ability to manage various tasks;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Proficiency with Google Apps and MS Office applications (Office 365);
• Previous experience with Job Nimbus and Buildertrend is an asset;
• Ability to produce results independently while maintaining a positive team environment;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
• Outgoing, personable attitude;
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Site Supervisor - $40 to $47/h + Benefits + Bonuses

Description of Duties:

  • Leading construction team to complete high-quality projects on schedule
  • This is an on the tools working management position, where you are on tools a significant amount on smaller projects and less so larger ones
  • Actively work on training of all employees on your team
  • Approving bills of suppliers and sub-trades and keeping projects on budgets
  • Working with clients throughout the project to ensure excellent customer experience.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Track record of successfully managing construction projects;
  • Must have vehicle and tools and know how to use them;
  • Must be willing and able to learn new ways to do things ;
  • Great Teamwork and Organizational Skills
  • Must be able to show successfully completed residential projects where you were either the lead carpenter or site supervisor;
  • Need to have Red Seal Carpentry Ticket or equivalent experience;
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Other trade skills are also a benefit.

Compensation: $40 to $47/h + Benefits + Production bonuses.

Carpenter - $24 to $30 (DOE) + Benefits

We are currently looking for a Carpenter with high standards, who takes pride in his/her workmanship, and is continually looking to enhance his/her skills. We offer the opportunity for apprentice sponsorship towards attaining a Red Seal.

We want people who want to be in the industry long-term and are dedicated to being the best at what they do.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Hold a Red Seal Certification, or are willing to pursue it, or with deep experience.
  • Ability and desire to do great work and give exceptional customer service
  • The desire to learn our standards and be trained as an industry professional
  • Have the required tools and a vehicle to get to various job sites located in and around Vancouver
  • Experience in residential construction and renovation
  • Teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills
